I have to be honest. It took me a long time to start to let go what running skill I had. When I started working with EH, I was still pretty much a runner. As
my training changes, I wasn't able to hold my speed, especially in short races like 5K. It used to really irk me. I couldn't understand why I
couldn't run fast in short races and still train to do triathlons. EH kept telling me that I could be good at several different things, or I could focus on
something really important and get A race results instead of a lot of B+ to B- type results. When I finally let go- wow, what a difference. For me, I'd
rather have that A race, and I've found my desire run road races is just not what it was... and I'm okay with that.
