These group rides are one of the best ways to get stronger as a cyclist - I know that they were instrumental in my cycling development. The problem is that many out there are stuck in there comfort zone, doing their own training and they'll find a ton of excuses or justifications to skip this ride. I'm not going to...

Eric,

Camon, Bethel is the world championship of everything. Can it be dangerous? of course. However since the "bad year" they have done a good job of teaching mentoring and getting people in and out safely. They have even for a few weeks run a kids crit to again help riders get it. IMHO it teaches you to ride defensively and if you ride off the front it is a heck of a workout. This is not a plug just what some of us do on Tuesday night. Plus the family can sit on the...

Big Mark,

The crit is fun but the B ride is dangerous - you know, the cat IV's that treat this like it's the Tour.

I'd love to do an early morning, although I'm out the door by 5:15am every day to be down in Greenwhich for 6am. I ride Saturday mornings each week although I'm reluctant to schedule this because I go early and not many show.

If others want to ride in the am though, chime in!

Cheers,

EH

Hey just saw this. Tuesday is crit night (part of the fair you talk of) I would love to do Thursday however nights are pretty committed to family. Any thought of early morning rides before the family wakes? I find if I don’t do it in the morning something always comes up during the day.

Mark

McLovin,

What I'm thinkin is you come over after work on Tue or thu (whichever night we plan) and we ride until 6pm where we meet with the group (if there is a group) and do a great 30 mile loop beginning at 6pm. I know the perfect loop with a good mix of everything.

Cheers,

EH

I'd be up for as many as my schedule allows. I get out of work a bit early than most, so if you're looking at an evening ride, that jams me up a bit with traveling north to get home and south to ride. Tuesday's are better than Thursdays for me, for what it's worth. If you have late afternoon rides, 4-4:30 start or earlier, then I'm DTF!
McLovin

Eric- I am very interested in this idea. But as you know, getting up to Monroe after work on a Tues or Thurs in time for a timely start is not possible. Any chance that you will be doing a late afternoon personal training session down this way and we could roll that into a group workout from time to time?
